The Sunday Telegraph had a review of 6 Smoked Salmon Varieties that all merited high praise.
Kinvara Organic £5.99 for 150g, Selfridges and www.kinvarasmokedsalmon.com
Andy Race Peat Smoked Organic £12 for 250g www.andyrace.co.uk
Inverawe Scottish – £7.50 for 100g www.smokedsalmon.co.uk
Sainsbury Isle of Skye – £4.79 for 120g Lighter choice, not heavily smoked
Waitrose Heathland Scottish – £5.89 for 140g – a personality filled mouthful
Asda Scottish with Glen Moray £2.64 for 100g – an excellent all round choice that everyone should like.
The Kinvara looks like the best choice to me – decent price and if Selfridges are OK with it then I am. If not that, one of the supermarket ones, whichever is most convenient, but Asda would win if it was party food or for cooking and Waitrose for a special treat.
It would be fun to taste test these…
